Carlton's Page

Wassup Carlton.

It's been a while since I've updated the page.
Here is the Dallas link with explanations on why the show went down.

Personally, I think it was combination of things. No. 1, is time. As you told me yourself, after an amount of time, you run out of ideas and public gets tired of things. Dallas was good for the 70s and early 80s. It came along at a perfect time in our nation's history. The 90s was a different time.

No. 2 is the death of Jim Davis. The character of Jock Ewing was very important to the show.

Another thing might be that the show peeked too soon. After the Who Shot J.R., the show got a little boring. The fight for Ewing Oil was somewhat of a spark, but Ellie marrying Clayton hurt the show.

Another major thing that hurt was the Patrick Duffy coming in and out.

Victoria Principal leaving hurt the show, and the final blow was the departure of LInda Gray.

How can there be a J.R. without a Sue Ellen?

History of the Hamburger

Click on the link for the History of Hamburgers
The first hamburger chain was WHITE CASTLE. However, McDonald's came along and dethroned White Castle. Hamburgers were invented around the 1880s and 90s, but hamburgers did not become known until after the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. That was when Hamburgers were first given exposure and publicity. White Castle came along in 1922. This helped make the American public accept Hamburgers. Of course, McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's spread hamburgers around the world.

HOW TO RECOGNIZE AND DEAL WITH HIDDEN AGENDAS

Also, the name Gabriel means valant man of God. Geber in the Hebrew means valient man. El means "the deity" or "the god", "The Mighty One"

Daniel means God is Judge
Dan in the Hebrew means judge
El means God

666 or 616?

Carlton, did you know that there are a few Greek manuscripts that have 616 as the number of the beast instead of 666.

While most manuscripts of the Bible read six-hundred-sixty-six or 666 for the Number of the Beast in Revelations 13:18, some early manuscripts contain 616 instead. Codex Ephraemi Rescriptus (5th century), Papyrus 115 (3rd or 4th century), and some copies of Irenaeus's works have 616. The minuscule manuscript 2344 (11th century) identifies the Number of the Beast as 665.

In May 2005 it was reported that scholars at Oxford University using advanced imaging techniques had been able to read previously illegible portions of an early (third century) version of the Book of Revelation, part of its Oxyrhynchus collection of papyri. The fragment suggested that the earliest Number of the Beast was 616.

Paris Hilton Carl Jr.'s Commercial

This commercial was very controversial. It was to promote a new burger from Carl Jr.'s and Hardees, but it featured Paris Hilton in provocative poses.
Carl's Jr. and Hardees must have merged a few years ago. On the East Coast, it is called Hardees. On the West Coast, it is called Carl's Jr.

Casual Sundays

Many churches are taking a more relaxed view on proper church attire and conduct, but that's no excuse for being rude. Tip: Turn off your cell phone.

By By SHARON TUBBS
Published November 14, 2004

Cell phones ringing.

Gum under the seats.

Skintight jeans.

People showing up late.

Then leaving early.

Coffee dribbling on the carpet.

Doughnut crumbs in the pews.

Chitchatting during prayer time.

And, oh yeah, the presence of God.

Welcome.

You have entered the 21st century church.

How times have changed

It's not the church that people older than 30 grew up in, wearing their starched and ironed "Sunday best." Those were the days when women wore pantyhose and men wore ties.

The formalities of 40, 30, even 20 years ago have given way to individuality, comfort and all things casual. No one shines shoes anymore. Hymns have been drowned out by Christian folk, rock and soul. Church, in general, has a new attitude.

The saints no longer march in, they stroll in.

When they feel like it. Wearing whatever they want. With cell phones on their hips.

True, plenty of believers are okay with this. But plenty of others aren't, which has bred a new necessity in this laid-back nation:Click here for full story
